Food from the Heart
Food from the Heart (FFTH) started with the Bread Distribution Programme in February 2003, and has been channeling unsold bread from bakeries and hotels to welfare organizations, needy families and individuals since then. The programme is based on the willingness of bakeries, hotels and that of our volunteers to carry out missions to save bread on a daily basis, thus avoiding bread wastage.

Due to overwhelming response from volunteers and partners in the food industry, it was possible to diversify our services to needy individuals and families. Today, the free bread is being delivered to 120 welfare homes in Singapore, as well as to more than 5,500 needy individuals directly. For further details, please visit www.foodheart.org

Room to Read
Room to read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, we develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant skills to succeed in school and beyond.

Room to Read’s programs have reached more than four million children so far and hopes to improve literacy for ten million children by 2015. Imagine a world in which every child has access to an education. Room to Read is doing its best to make this dream a reality, one child at a time.
